Not Everything Has To Be Valuable

Nowadays, it’s expected that you should be productive constantly. Whether you’re a student studying for their next exam or doing homework or an adult doing some work, being busy and productive are expected. Even with hobbies, they’re expected to have some visible “output”.

Routines

Everyone has routines, some of them are good, others exist simply because they’re convenient. Those ones aren’t that interesting. They don’t really serve a purpose and just help you do less, which isn’t always a bad thing. They’re just not that interesting.

The Extrovert Ideal

In recent times, we have grown less tolerant of those who are closer to the introverted side of the spectrum. We are told that to be successful is to be bold, to put yourself out there, to socialise like there’s no tomorrow. Yet, half the world are introverts. Some people may pretend to an extrovert, or even do not believe they are introverted until an event forces them to discover their true selves.

Why You Should Be Selfish

Not many people will call themselves selfish. It’s viewed as something that’s wrong. In fact, this is taught from a young age, right from when you were told to “Stop being selfish and share your toys”. What they don’t tell you is that you have to be selfish.

Modern society has come far. There’s no denying that but, like everything, it is flawed. There are flaws which gain lots of attention – as they rightly should. These flaws are serious and visible, such as the misogynistic attitudes of society which tends to result in the sexualisation of women. But there are less visible flaws, flaws which are harder to overcome because you must first convince people that the flaw exists and then you must convince them to fix it. Coming to the point, there’s one flaw that is particularly rampant: boxes.
